Role Summary
Taking direction from and reporting to the Shift Lead, this position involves activities related to operating the equipment listed below on civil earthworks worksite. This will entail being responsible for running and maintaining the equipment for daily operations. Operators will also be expected to perform on-site, labour-based activities when not operating equipment. Versatility, flexibility and a positive attitude are required in this position. The position is project site based and therefore LOA or hotel accomodations + meal allowance are provided. It also requires each team member to work well with others in a safe and efficient manner and understands the importance of quality and good communication.
Responsibilities
Excavator
- Minimum 3 years’ experience
- Cut to finish grade
- Load Brush / forestry operations
- Load various types of trucks
- Getting in and out of machine
- Daily inspection
- Cleaning of equipment, as required
Rock Truck
- Minimum 2 years’ experience
- Getting in and out of machine
- Daily inspection
- Cleaning of equipment, as required
Qualifications
- Able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team
- Positive and safety conscious attitude
- Service equipment and perform routine maintenance
- Assistance in loading/unloading equipment at different work locations
- Capable of working in a safety focused team environment
- Reliable and have a strong work ethic
- Current Class 5 Drivers License with a clean driving record
- Able to work overtime and weekends – shift work and travel required
- Able to work well individually or as a team & follow instruction effectively
- Experienced and competent and able to pass a competency assessment
training & certification
- Class 5 driver’s license and ability to provide a clean driver’s abstract (required)
- Standard First Aid (required)
- CSTS -09 or 2020 (required)
- Ground Disturbance Level II (required)
- H2S Alive (required)
