Job title: Manager, Corporate Rooms Operations
Job description: Four Seasons has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Corporate Rooms Operations in the Global Hospitality department. The incumbent will be providing a maternity leave coverage for eighteen months starting around mid-October 2021 and ending mid-April 2023. This is a fixed-term contract opportunity based in Toronto Corporate office and will have flexible work arrangement.
Working in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of Four Seasons global headquarters, the Manager, Corporate Rooms Operations, will provide a wide range of support to the SVP Global Hospitality, including communication, projects, and planning. This position requires a professional, experienced, and productive self-starter capable of working without supervision.
The position also requires, when needed, additional working hours to support a global calendar of activities. The duties and responsibilities require a candidate that is flexible, co-operative, receptive to challenge, and above all has a positive and professional attitude. The candidate must be an effective communicator and well organized; very detail oriented multi-tasking ability is required to balance competing priorities and deadlines.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
Rooms
· Writing new and updating existing Corporate Rooms Policies and Procedures on the global information sharing platform by coordinating with leaders from the field and corporate departments.
· Attend regional Rooms Lead, Rooms Council and Senior Directors of Housekeeping calls to discuss key initiatives and project launches, determine areas of innovation and improvement, and obtain field insight for change management.
· Align with SVP Global Hospitality to achieve 2021 and 2022 global property sustainability goals including a plastic-free and water strategy for guest rooms.
· Work with corporate Learning and Development, taskforce field representatives and Service Council to update Rooms training tools, including Standards Training Manuals (Benchmark standards, steps of service, core areas, etc.).
· Attend Pre-Opening calls, Room Reviews and Arrival Experience calls for all pre-opening properties ensuring their tasks within the pre-opening critical paths are met.
Communication
· Be the key point person for any Rooms related items in Corporate Office and questions or concerns on Rooms projects from the field.
· Work with SVP Global Hospitality to create various presentations, surveys and reports for new initiatives, leadership conferences and quarterly updates.
· Maintaining Operations information sharing platform (SharePoint) and Yammer (internal social networking tool) with relevant material to achieve global employee engagement.
Lead With Care (Enhanced Health and Safety Program)
· As part of the Core team, responsibilities would include; participating in weekly Lead With Care meetings, managing the “Ask Our Experts” question portal, tracking employee and guest related incidents on property, creating monthly COVID-19 presentations, analyzing market data to determine operating phases and updating operating guidelines.
Key Requirements, Qualifications and Competencies:
· University or College degree preferred.
· 3-5 years’ work experience in a management capacity in a luxury hotel environment, preferably Rooms area with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
· Excellent skills in Microsoft Office – Word and PowerPoint and proficient in Excel.
· Microsoft 365 and Medallia experience preferred.
· Ability to work independently, take initiative, use sound judgement, and be proactive in taking on new tasks.
· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with minimal intervention in a faced-paced environment.
· Team player with strong interpersonal skills, who can work cooperatively with others to accomplish common tasks and objectives.
· Innovative problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify, investigate, and analyze issues and develop a variety of possible solutions.
· Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including experience organizing and writing reports.
· The role might require 10-25% business travel.
