Job description: Position Purpose and Summary

This individual will advance the mission and vision of Trinity Western University by leading and managing the strategic marketing process and executing various marketing and communications projects for a selection of departments across the University—primarily focusing on the areas of Development (Donor), Alumni, and Parents & Family relations.

Key Areas of Accountability

Strategic Marketing Management

  • Successfully lead the marketing function for a dedicated roster of departments, based on a well-developed understanding of their departmental direction, goals, and needs.
  • Lead the development of marketing strategies, calendars, and budgets for these departments.
  • Execute integrated marketing campaigns that effectively engage audiences through thechannels of email, social media, direct mail, digital and print advertising, events and more.
  • Proactively work with departments to ensure effective execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure strategic alignment of key brand elements and messaging on all deliverables.Relationship Management

Relationship Management

  • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships through proactive and consistent communication (i.e., meetings) to ensure projects and results are meeting expectations.
  • Work with departmental leaders to identify opportunities for growing their department’s contribution to stated goals and fulfillment of the mission and vision.
  • Contribute to the success of each assigned department’s marketing initiatives through strategic insights, recommendations, and planning.
  • Proactively develop strong relationships across the university through regular check-ins.

Marketing Services Activation

  • Build or approve effective creative briefs for all projects to ensure brand consistency, strategic direction and strong communication with departments and executional team members.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality deliverables by effectively leveraging other team members.
  • Maintain proactive and consistent communication with roster of departments as well asfellow marketing team members to keep up to date on project status and required actions.
  • Determine and allocate budget and resources to successfully execute marketing plans.

Team Management

  • Set clear priorities for supporting team members through 1-to-1’s and project meetings.
  • Ensure all projects are properly entered in project management software and updated daily.
  • Lead, coach and develop all direct reports to optimize their personal and professionalprogress, including 1-to-1’s, performance reviews and informal coaching opportunities.
  • Adhere to stated protocols and standards for expense tracking and billing.

  • Project management prowess with critical-path mastery and an ability to “get stuff done”.
  • Ability to execute within established process but able to freestyle as needed.
  • Bias for action and taking the initiative to ensure results.
  • Managerial experience with ability to empower others to execute with excellence.

TWU offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including three weeks of vacation to start, extended health & dental, an RRSP matching plan, and a tuition waiver program.
Salary: $60,000 to $80,000.
