Under the responsibility of the restaurant manager, the assistant maître D is a manager who actively participates in the organization of the banquet events. He oversees activities related to banquet and meeting services according to established standards. He also performs supervisory tasks for the catering outlets and room service.

Job description:

• Help Master D in his duties
• Motivate, train and supervise the service employees;
• Supervise the smooth running of meals and coffee breaks;
• Distribute work and plan schedules for servers and team members;
• Ensure the highest quality of customer service and satisfaction during and after the service and handle complaints where applicable;
• Organize the assembly and disassembly of banquet halls;
• Participate in the coordination of events and ensure the smooth running of these events;
• Ensure effective communication within the department and with other departments of the hotel;
• Conduct daily inspection of service areas and ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, health and safety standards

Education:

• D.E.S. (Secondary School Diploma) – Essential

Skills:

• Knowledge in sales and marketing – Asset
• Able to work under pressure – Asset
• Knowledge of wine and alcoholic beverages available – Asset
• Être à l’aise avec la manipulation d’argent – Asset
• Knowledge of Maitre D software – Asset

Language:

• English Spoken and Written – Average – Asset
• French Spoken and Written – High – Asset
