We operate the wholesale distribution of non-medical cannabis and beverage alcohol within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Cannabis Stores and BC Liquor Stores.

The LDB has been assigned to distribute, wholesale and sell non-medicinal cannabis inclusive of a government owned online channel with a mandate to support government’s key priorities of protecting children and youth, ensuring health and safety standards, and keeping the criminal element out of the supply chain. Following legalization, the BCLDB began distribution and wholesale of cannabis, and operating BC Cannabis Stores in a growing number of locations across the province. Since 2018 the BC Cannabis Stores chain has grown to over 30 locations with more growth planned all across the province. Cannabis operations within the BCLDB includes the Distribution, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing, E-commerce and Customer Care departments.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, Cannabis Operations, the Retail Marketing Manager is responsible for managing, administering, and coordinating programs related to visual presentation for cannabis product. This position is responsible for developing and communicating innovative, tactical programs for store merchandising, visual presentation, in-store signage/environment, and giving input on new store concepts, layout and design.

The Retail Marketing Manager is expected to manage, administer, and coordinate several programs related to visual presentation and event management for cannabis products. This position establishes and maintains links with internal stakeholders to plan/coordinate and implement projects and new store openings, Store Managers and Regional Managers to ensure consistency and compliance to the Visual Presentation Plan, designers and manufacturers to consult in the development of fixtures and signing solutions in stores, and external consultants to develop and implement large format graphics, frosting, and window displays, as necessary.

A criminal record check is required.

This position requires a valid BC Driver’s License and the ability to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia.

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • A degree or diploma in Marketing (or related field) with a minimum of 3 years of recent, related experience* managing in-store marketing programs and visual product displays with a large retailer.

*Recent, related work experience must include:

  • Experience in developing visual presentation standards and guides.

Preferred qualification include:

  • Experience managing visual aspects for renovations.
  • Experience managing visual aspects for new store openings.
  • Experience in regulated industry such as alcohol or cannabis.

An equivalent combination of experience, education, and training may be accepted. 6 years of recent, related experience (as listed above) may be considered equivalent to the educational component of the requirements.
