The Analyst – Web and Technology position is integral to the delivery of the Health Link service and meeting the health information needs of Albertans. The Analyst will also be responsible for analysis of records management, database enhancements and assist with evaluating supporting documentation to ensure that it meets business needs.

Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Business, Technology and Information Management Services, the Lead, Web Advisor is a provincial role. The Analyst – Web and Technology will use their expertise in design, information architecture, accessibility, content management and user experience to deliver online experiences. This position also provides immediate assistance to front-line staff that experience technical issues and works closely with the Health Link management team to coordinate upgrades to software, hardware, and other technological tools to support clinical practice. The Analyst will also be responsible for developing processes, procedures and standards regarding content delivery incorporating industry best practices, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the functionality, usability, and value of Health Link’s web-based solutions. The Analyst functions as a subject matter expert and works within a team environment to provide leadership and direction to support Health Link’s service offerings across the province and serves as a mentor to guide colleagues in developing and maintaining content. This position plays a key role in supporting change management by enabling access to web-based information in a self-serve environment. This position liaises with clinical and non-clinical subject matter experts and other stakeholders across AHS to develop strong working relationships with content owners to ensure information meets the needs of the intended audience. This position is also responsible for the coordination of system upgrades and problem resolution for end users, system administration and disaster recovery planning. The Analyst liaises with other AHS departments and external service providers and is the point of contact for AHS Information Technology.

Required Qualifications:

To be successful in this role the candidate will have an eye for detail, strong interpersonal and relationship management skills and excellent written and verbal communications coupled with decision-making and problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently within tight timelines and to effectively manage internal/external resources to achieve organizational goals with strong attention to accuracy and detail. Well-developed written and verbal communication, interpersonal and team work skills, and an ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate discretion will contribute to your success. Undergraduate degree in web design, information design, information technology, information sciences or related discipline. An equivalent combination of directly related experience and education may be considered. Minimum of 4 years of practical experience in a similar role. Experience with content management systems and with basic front-end web development tools and concepts – HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, responsive web development, etc. Certification in ITIL ® V3, Business Analysis and Project Management Solid understanding of writing and editing for the web.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting contact centre applications and hardware. Experience supporting health information systems while demonstrating strong client-centered skills. Programming knowledge – specifically VBA for Word, Excel and Access. Basic Network design and troubleshooting experience. Knowledge of record and information management principles
