Job description: Description
- Actively participate in the ongoing maintenance of the hotel
- On-call, evening, and weekend work will be required.
- Assist the Facilities Manager with management and review all building systems
- Play an active leadership role within the facilities department.
- Ensure all maintenance requests are attended to in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform regular and effective preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities
- Assist the Facilities Manager with ensuring compliance to all legal requirements within the Facilities Management department
- Assist with the tracking of departmental inventory, manuals, and warranties
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience within Engineer or Building Maintenance
- General plumbing and electrical skill required.
- Experience in a luxury hotel/resort environment preferred
- Degree, diploma or training in related discipline an asset
- Strong working knowledge of all facilities management principles, methods, practices and techniques
- Sincere customer focus and true appreciation for the guest experience
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing
- Ability to perform small to medium repairs as required
- First Aid qualifications an asset
- Pool management course or the ability to complete is required
- Computer literacy with a strong operating knowledge of facility management technology
- Leadership experience an asset.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs
- Kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
