Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager Accounts Payable will report to the Manager Accounts Payable and will work closely with other members of the Finance Team as well as clinical and operational leaders throughout the organization. The Accounts Payable Assistant Manager is responsible for supervision of staff executing the expense distribution function. They are responsible for overseeing best practice processes in their role, following applicable legislation and adhering to organizational policy. The Assistant Manager Accounts Payable, under direction from the Manager Accounts Payable, will execute month end closing processes for their department, including all reporting, reconciliations and journal entry adjustments. The Assistant Manager Accounts Payable will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide day to day advice and support to the Accounts Payable staff and is accountable for significant cash disbursement processing exceeding $700M. The Assistant Manager Accounts Payable will act as the key functional resource by coordinating, planning and leading the day-to-day activities within the Accounts Payable team.
This position will be based out of the Chipman Facility in Kentville Nova Scotia.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in related field
- Minimum 5-7 years strong management and/or functional financial system experience
- Experience in engaging, mentoring and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner to respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the organization
- Possesses a solid understanding of processes and key performance indicators
- Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
- Knowledgeable of SAP functionality for financial processes or a similar financial system
- Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Enrolment or completion of an accounting designation considered an asset
- Experience in a healthcare setting considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain excellent customer service
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships
Hours of Work
- Permanent, full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- This position is located in Kentville NS at the Chipman facility
Salary Information
$35.27 – $44.09 hourly
