This is an ideal role for an individual that id looking for an opportunity to play a Finance leadership role within our Canadian organization while leveraging finance best practices with our North America Finance team.
You will be responsible for leading the financial controlling and financial reporting for Ipsen Canada while collaborating with shared services functions to ensure all identified services are being delivered to agreed upon standards.Additionally, you will complete financial planning and analysis processes including personnel cost planning and gross to net sales accounting.
The role will lead and support projects within finance and effectively collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams globally to exceed financial and business objectives.
The position will also oversee the office operations, including office reception and facilities management functions.
Responsibilities
Oversight, management, development and mentorship of a team of Finance & Operations employees.
Financial Controlling and Financial Reporting – (Month end /Year end)
Lead the month, quarter and year end close activities working with Finance Shared Services
Responsible for the integrity of the financial information in SAP, BFC, and TM1 systems
Ensure all reporting in compliance with Group reporting guidelines
Establish and communicate monthly and year end process / deadlines to internal stakeholders.
Review monthly Opex accrual journal entries and Payroll related accruals
Review balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure timely action taken on reconciling items.
Responsible for quarterly reviews and approvals of all intercompany transactions
Responsible for monthly financial reporting deck with focus on accuracy and value-added insight
Identify, interpret and explain budget and expense variances:
Lead the sales reconciliation between SAP and 4PL’s systems
Create and maintain local cost centre, profit centre, internal orders and account structures
Liaise with 3rd party (BDO) to complete Annual financial statement package
Complete all statutory reporting requirements and Government statistic submissions (PMPRB, CRA, StatCan provincial governments and IQVIA)
Lead and manage internal control initiatives to ensure compliance
Liaison with Corporate insurance / local Canadian broker to provide required information to complete insurance renewals and ensure appropriate protection of risks (Corporate liability, fleet, etc).
Work in collaboration with Finance shared services functions: purchase to pay, concur, fleet, accounts receivable, account payables.
Work in collaboration with shared services Tax team to complete Tax / Transfer pricing tasks
Complete annual return on sales calculations and initiate chargebacks to Ipsen entities.
Facilitate annual SR&ED filing in collaboration with Medical, Tax and 3rd party consultant.
Local support for other tax related matters (Non-Resident tax, VAT queries, Payroll)
Support transfer pricing process in coordination with global counterparts
Financial Planning & AnalysisS
Complete headcount budgets for all employees / Monitor actual performance vs plan
Salary Mass user for Ipsen Canada
Manage the accrual calculations for gross-to-net adjustments such as PLA rebates, Co-pays, discount and Returns
Partner with Business Analytics and Market Access to Design and implement government rebate forecasting model to account for pricing deals, liasing with pricing and analytics teams
Complete the Total Working Capital submissions, rolling 18-month cash flow forecast processes, and Capex planning
Deliver top tier business partnering to the assigned business areas to drive performance, improvement in operational, planning and analysis processes, optimizing resources
Lead and/or participates in corporate driven projects/initiatives as well as process improvement initiatives as assigned or directed.
Knowledge, Abilities & Experience
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Commerce
10 +years of progressive finance experience in the Canadian business environment
Pharmaceutical industry experience in Canada
Must be able to speak English
