Perform day-to-day activities related to Retail Cash Activity, Accounts Receivables, Subscriber Accounting, Payroll. Follow corporate approval policies; ensure all transactions are processed in a timely manner; recording or accruing all material corporate receivables, liabilities and obligations on a timely basis; ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance is maintained within areas of responsibility. Support implementation of improvements to procedures, timeliness and accuracy of information.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting activities in Retail Cash Activity, Subscriber Accounting, Payroll Preparation.
  • Enter all transactions into the system in a timely manner. Ensure accurate and timely receipts.
  • Analyze monthly results and understand business initiatives in order to ensure integrity of financial reporting through analytical reviews, investigation of variances
  • Prepare and complete monthly accounting entries, including accruals.
  • Perform timely ad hoc investigations and reporting to support month-end close, business operations or project implementation which will require working with cross functional teams, independent analytical review or technical accounting research
  • Liaise with outside departments to resolve any issues
  • Complete regular and ad hoc reporting in accordance with established timelines; distribute to applicable parties where appropriate.
  • Follow published policies related to health and safety rules specific to the workplace as provided by senior management. Promote health and safety within the workplace. Report any potential problems or unsafe situations to supervisors and/or senior management.
  • Conduct account reconciliations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

  • Incumbent must have a sound knowledge of cash and banking, accounts receivables, processing, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) legislation and controls.
  • 2 or 3 years college/ University degree or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills are required.
  • Strong computer skills a must, including intermediate to advance Microsoft Excel.
  • The ability to process error free work and meet deadlines in a fast paced results driven environment is essential.
  • This position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to make sound recommendations derived from data analysis
  • Must be comfortable with and have complete understanding of account reconcilations and accrual procedures.
