The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

In Human Resources (HR), we support a large, distributed organization with a range of services from our Talent & Compensation, Organizational Development & Change, Employee Relations and Investigations, and Occupational Health and Safety teams. You’ll get the opportunity to flex your skills in supporting retail, warehouse, and corporate office environments with a unionized employee base. The Learning Advisor develops, implements and evaluates training and educations initiatives and provides performance consulting services to individuals, groups, and teams within the organization. This includes the facilitation of cross-functional teams and process improvements all of which supports the LDB’s current learning and development model.

Work will take place in a standard office environment. Successful completion of criminal record check is required. Ability to travel within the Province of BC is required.

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent, experience as a corporate Learning Advisor, Performance Consultant, Learning & Development Specialist, Instructional Designer or Public School Teacher.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in the area of HR management, business, or education. Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education (CACE) considered an asset.
  • Considerable practical experience in the end-to-end planning, design, delivery and evaluation of learning and development programs or projects. Project management experience considered an asset.
  • Experience designing and delivering technical, customer service/sales, compliance, developmental and leadership training/programs in a variety of modes including: in-person, eLearning, video, virtual instructor-led and self-directed learning.
  • Experience providing learning and development services to corporate, distribution centre and retail environments.
