Job description: Our retail client is looking for a business intelligence developer to join their team in a permanent capacity.

What & Why:
This role can be remote forever. They are undergoing a significant digital transformation and are investing heavily in their analytics programs. This organization is highly agile and has fully embraced the distributed workforce model. You will be responsible for enabling Machine Learning automation and optimization by building scalable data models and ETL pipelines from the data warehouse and data lake. You will be deploying analytics products into production by taking an agile approach, starting from problem exploration, POC testing, and scaling. You understand the value of big data and have experience unlocking it by designing schemas and cloud-based workflows in R and Python with data engineering teams. You should also have experience creating and enforcing software engineering best practices to analytics code through version control, testing, and CI/CD.

This role can be remote forever and located anywhere in Canada. If you are located in Vancouver and would like an office to call home our client is moving to a new office located in Mount Pleasant with hotel seating. This is an exciting time to join our client as they are embarking on an analytics journey and you will be able to help shape what that looks like for the organization. The product you will be working on has a very strong ROI and will be able to provide a lot of value back to the business. You will be a trusted advisor and have the ability provide a lot of guidance to the team on best practices.
You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
- 3-5 years experience building pipelines with the Microsoft stack
- Experience working with on-prem data. Experience transitioning to cloud will be seen as an asset, moving to Azure and using Azure Data Lake and eventually move to Snowflake
- Experience with Machine Learning
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
