Position Summary:
The Business Process Analyst, F&A is responsible for supporting the Director of Process Optimization to drive strategic improvements and innovative change throughout Finance & Accounting (F&A) and the company. This role supports efforts to define and prioritize process improvement opportunities related to workflows, design and implementation of innovative process and technology changes across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and strengthen workflows, processes and controls by working with CAPREIT’s F&A and Corporate departments to identify, develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of process improvement projects.
- Support cross-functional working groups to improve business processes by studying current practices and proposing modifications, taking an end-to-end perspective with a focus on improved service and operational excellence, and increased client satisfaction.
- Ensure technology is implemented with the most efficient processes and minimal customization.
- Quantitatively determine and track expected productivity improvement and savings from BPI events.
- Assist the various business teams to develop a clear understanding of “from/to” process change impacts and assist in creating change readiness action plans and adoption approaches by working closely with Operational Effectiveness and PMO to facilitate decisions necessary for project success.
- Visualize as-is and to-be business processes (process mapping) and process performance (process modeling).
- Utilize BPI methodologies including, but not limited to, lean, six sigma, theory of constraints, planning, prioritization of deliverables, and organization of project teams to deliver expected results.
- Ensure appropriate project change management including desired outcomes, accurate scope, clear roles and responsibilities and decision-making. Ensure standard change management protocols are used to support the project and subsequent re-design.
- Support variety of type and scale of improvement projects, simultaneously as needed, ensuring all projects are managed using established BPI process.
- Provide recommendations through identifying problems, developing and implementing solutions, and ensuring all standard operating procedures are recorded, periodically reviewed, and updated.
- Support the planning and implementing of process improvement, operating model, optimization, and organizational design/integration initiatives.
- Build awareness and support for process improvements within CAPREIT’s Operations group
- Work closely with F&A SMEs, Systems Architect(s), Business Analysts, and Change Management team members to improve organizational efficiencies, with a combined focus on Process-Technology-People.
- Identify and implement ways to measure and track productivity by assessing and defining process metrics.

Required Skills:
- Ability to standout in fast paced environment
- Ability to work in a fluid environment that involves managing varied responsibilities, and multiple priorities
- Bilingual (French/English) would be considered an asset
- Comfortable speaking to all lines of business
- Excellent computer skills – Excel, MS Office, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills, ability to work independently and multi-task
- Experience with exception reporting
- Experience with MS Visio considered an asset
- Experienced in leading and managing quantitative, complex analysis
- Keen attention to detail
- Knowledge and Analysis Skills – be able to source, collect and evaluate information to present in useable forms to the relevant audience
- Outstanding verbal and written communication and facilitation skills are vital for effective communication, clarification, and validation through the use of meeting management, presentation, and communication and relationship skills
- Proficient in building financial models, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong financial analytic skills
- Team oriented and ability to work constructively and collaboratively
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant working experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
- CPA, CA, MBA, and/or CFA designation is an asset
