Job description: Position Summary… As a Logistics Engineering Analyst at Walmart, you will be responsible for supporting Engineering & Capital team in planning and optimizing functions in the supply chain, contributing with detailed definition of business requirements, design of distribution solutions, continuous improvement initiatives and analysis to support business strategies.

What you’ll do…

As a Logistics Engineering Analyst, you will work alongside the Engineering Manager and Logistics Team who will provide you with an invaluable experience to develop your competencies and engage you in the following functions:

1. Provide design and engineering support for new and existing operations with focus on productivity improvement and maximizing return on capital investments, working closely with senior members of the Logistics team

2. Perform detailed analysis and research for support in the development of project business case and development of IRR analysis for capital projects under supervision of senior team members

3. Support development of short and long-term planning including network design, transportation and warehouse cost modeling, and definition of DC requirements

4. Development of small/large scale initiatives that include implementation and integration of new software and technologies across the network

5. Performing data analysis, time motion studies and MOST/MTM in operation to help develop and maintain labor engineering standards

6. Potential opportunities to travel throughout Canada to support projects localized in any one of Walmart’s DCs

7. This is an exciting opportunity for an intern to support project management and execution of changes to supply chain to improve item availability, service levels, and reductions in total cost-to-serve.

8. Ability to translate operations and/or technology processes into a technical document

9. SharePoint design work (forms, workflows etc.)

10. Streamline and/or optimize reporting programs across our Distribution Network using BI software

This 12-16 month Walmart paid internship will teach and give you practical skills above and beyond your classroom experience.
