Job Description
Our client is looking for a Chief Information Officer for their Head Office located in Regina. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include delivering a Technology Vision for the organization, including identifying opportunities for the company to improve customer experience, improve operational efficiency or reduce cost through the application or development of IT Services. They will also be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of an ERP platform to serve all segments of the organization and providing technological guidance to the organization.
This position establishes and directs the strategic and tactical goals, policies and procedures for the IT department, leads projects, maintains security of all essential data and ensure complete backup of all computer systems, and manages all personnel roles within the IT department.

Job Duties
- Develop a Technology Vision for the organization, including identifying opportunities for the company to improve customer experience, improve operational efficiency or reduce cost through the application or development of IT Services.
- Work with the business to identify and implement ways for us to be closer to our customer
- Implement and maintain IT Services to serve all segments of the organization allowing for strategic and operational objectives to be met. This will include:
o defining the scope and timing of implementation across all business units;
o documenting critical path and project milestones;
o work with senior management to identify potential organizational change management challenges and tactics to overcome;
o identifying and recommending IT Services partners to senior management;
o leading contractual negotiations with Prospective IT Services partners creating appropriate implementation steering committees;
o actively monitoring work product of IT Services partners;
o monitoring progress against project milestones; and
o providing leadership to the organization during and following implementation.
- In conjunction with Purchasing, procure and maintain all computer hardware and software essential for keeping the information systems operable.
- In conjunction with Purchasing, manage vendor relationships with hardware and software providers to ensure informational updates and troubleshoot problems.
- Evaluate current technologies, vendors and future trends in order recommend changes in the IT department that will have a positive effect company wide and drive business value.
- Responsible for all personnel management roles within the IT department including hiring, terminating, promotion etc.
- Maintain security of all essential data and ensure complete backup of all computer systems in case of system failure or disaster including maintaining a disaster recovery plan for IT.
- Lead other projects as assigned.
- Stay current with all industry, information technology and information services trends and ensure continuous skill development within department.
- Create a cost-benefit analysis as well as a detailed definition of data requirements and departmental workflows.
- Establish and direct the strategic and tactical goals, policies, and procedures for the information technology department.
- Identify user needs and resolve problems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- University degree in computer science, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience.
- Strong record of successful leadership in a similar position.
- Proven experience in managing and directing employees in a data processing environment.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Hands-on experience either as leader of a large Cloud Migration or an Enterprise System implementation such as ERP, SCM, CRM, Telephony Solutions, etc. or in a major supporting role.
- Proven project management experience.
- Advanced overall knowledge of Enterprise Systems, networking, operating system, and server architectures.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers.
- Sound leadership, staff management, and team-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to prioritize and organize.
