Job description: Enghouse Transportation & Public Safety is currently looking for a Chief Technology Officer to lead the global engineering team and the global product management team for this division. Reporting to the Global President, this is a new role in the organization that will take ownership of our solutions to drive market growth. The ideal candidate is a detail oriented, self-starter with demonstrated ability to dive into the technical details of complicated systems while remaining focused on the larger vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Product Management function to define roadmap, releases, and strategic direction for the product(s)
• Ensure standards, processes, and procedures are established for projects and services managed to deliver projects and services complying to the specs / KPIs and within the designated timelines and budget
• Plan and control software releases incl. estimation of time/resources needed to deliver on time or ahead of schedule, incl. risk management
• Ensure software implementation on design and task thoroughness
• Ensures mitigation plans exist to remove technical risk including weak software systems that need improvement
• Assists in setting fiscal budgets and is accountable for managing capital and operational expenses in line with budgets
• Supports sales and business development with contributing to deal driven enhancements, proof of concept creation, execution of impact analysis and devising proposals
• Evaluates engineering team(s), identifying strengths, problem areas, and developing plans for improving performance
• Responsible for ensuring performance appraisals, annual increases, and promotions are done in line with HR expectations
• Evaluates, interview candidates and external partners for technical skills and/or team fit

Key Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience working in a commercial software development environment.
• 5+ years’ experience leading cross functional teams managing relationships with business customers.
• Experience in Automated Fare Technology or related Fintech applications;
• Experience in vendor management and management of external service providers
• Hands-on leadership experience going into the details for software design, code, build, test, deploy, and support
• Track record of successfully completing projects on time, within budget and according to the defined scope
• Experience in leading engineers through technical impediments and production support
• Experience in monitoring, measuring, reporting and reviewing the performance (KPIs) of IT services and applications in production to ensure that SLA requirements are met
• High collaboration skills in leading engineers and other SDLC roles through influence
• Knowledgeable in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC, including Scrum & Agile)
• Good in overseeing the big picture, but are capable of understanding the details whenever necessary
• Organizational awareness, result oriented, analytical skills, communication skills, leading diverse teams, connecting business and IT
