This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their design experience by working on a wide variety of private and public engineering projects. The successful candidates will use their strong technical skills on a variety of design projects. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assist in the production of engineering designs and drawings that meet all client and approval agency requirements and standards
- Transform preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designs and drawings using primarily AutoCAD Civil 3D, as well as other technical software as needed
- Coordinate the preparation of documents required for approvals, prepare development and construction cost estimates and tender documents and contracts
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved
- Identify field and design issues and facilitate corrective measures
- Liaise with contractor, client and affected stakeholders during construction operations
What You’ll Bring:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or Drafting Technology
- Ability to register as an AScT, or other technical accreditation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software is essential
- Attention to detail and excellent communication skills (verbal & written); ability to produce accurate field notes
- Ability to work independently and also within a busy and high-performing team
- An interest in municipal infrastructure and water and wastewater treatment systems
