If so, we are looking for a Journeyman Machinist who can operate a process materials from start to finish. Start with the drawing, select the material, cut the material, program the machines, engrave the material with the serial number. A high-level candidate who enjoys being a valued team player, strive for continuous learning, and are experienced in a manufacturing shop. The shop is located northwest of Edmonton. The environment is laid back and encouraging with a high-performing team. They are looking for someone who has a great positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic. You will be someone with a strong understanding of tool-making principles, able to work with minimal supervision, and with good organization, lastly, you have great attention to detail and take good pride in the work that you do. Responsibilities
– Setup of machines through the use of proper tools
– Load and unload the program.
– Operate machine with proper guarding in place
– Keep the machine and tools in a good working order
– Inspects work visually and with appropriate measuring instruments
– Ensures documentation and records are accurately maintained
– Participates in continual improvement through innovation and initiatives to improve safety, productivity, profitability, and efficiency
– Follows all policies and procedures as detailed in-process documents, immediately brings to the attention of the Supervisor any discrepancies or opportunities for improvement
– Maintains a clean and organized work area at all times
Qualifications
2-3 Years experience with CNC Lathe & mill,
Must hold a Journeyman ticket
Ability to competently perform on the CNC equipment
Must be able to run MasterCAM for programming software
Experience operating Haas and Okuma machines would be an asset
Ability to measure in both Imperial and Metric systems of measurement
Have a thorough knowledge of machining methods, techniques, and related equipment
Knowledge of manufacturing processes for tooling components; operations and their sequences
Knowledge of fits and tolerances
Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
Must have high attention to detail.
Ability to safely operate a tow motor and crane with required training and license
Basic knowledge of OSHA/OHSA regulations and safety standards
