The Opportunity:
WSP E&I is recruiting for Co-op Civil Engineering Student to work with the Calgary Geotechnical Engineering Team as part of the Alberta Geotechnical group.
Note: The position will be based out of Calgary for the most part of the internship term, but the initial few months will be based out of Edmonton for onboarding and to provide an opportunity for geotechnical core logging.
During this internship term, there will be opportunities to support both the Calgary and Edmonton teams as well
The position will entail providing support to our engineers and projects in a variety of areas of our business. Depending on project workloads, the position will vary from office work to lab / field support.

A day in the life:
Office specific duties may include:
- Compilation and presentation of geological and geotechnical data
- Calculation and assistance with engineering design
- Use of AutoCAD and design/modelling software.
Field related duties may include
- Providing support for drill investigations
- Instrumentation installations and monitoring, and/or
- Construction supervision.
What you’ll bring to WSP …
- Current enrolment in Civil Engineering from an Accredited University
- Enrolment in the CO-OP program is required
- Preference will be provided to Work Term 4/5 student, particularly if soil mechanics or geotechnical engineering course(s) have been completed, and there is a strong interest in geotechnical engineering.
