You’re a self-starter with the proven ability to meet the needs of a demanding business and IT environment. As the Data Engineer, you will be accountable for designing and executing data strategy, building data pipelines, and driving data projects from inception through implementation. You will ensure the data architecture and solution design align with the Data and Analytics roadmap with a strong focus on implementing cloud-based analytics.
Detail focused, you will implement processes that maintain the security, accuracy, and availability of data. You enjoy exploring and applying new and emerging concepts which will help you collaborate with business partners from various functional areas to build our next-generation analytics platform. You will show up, ready to “seize the data” while you gather business requirements, model, and design solutions to support Canfor’s analytics delivery.
Ideally, you have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a Data Engineering certification. You also have demonstrated data engineering or data streaming development expertise and multiple years of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence experience under your belt, preferably in a project environment. Preference will be given if your years working have been with Microsoft Azure Products. Bonus points if you have experience delivering ETL/ELT solutions for importing data from a wide variety of sources.
