The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.

  • Reporting into NI Procurement, Component Strategy, the Component Distribution Manager will provide strategic direction for the Supply Chain functions.
  • The role will involve developing and implementing procurement strategies which will result in a more flexible supply chain solution.
  • The successful candidate will manage key functional interfaces over a cross functional organization while balancing local/global requirements and matrix relationships.
  • This includes the balancing of risks and opportunities in order to ensure responsiveness to Customer product requirements while building a flexible, dynamic responsive supply chain.

What you will learn and contribute to

As part of our team, you will:

  • Define and implement component distribution strategy, including RFx activities, business case development with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage commercial relationships, including contract management, annual negotiations on program cost models for supply chain services and quarterly business reviews.
  • Implement governance models and metrics to ensure programs and strategies are working effectively.
  • Negotiate inventory carrying models with distribution partners or other 3rd parties. This includes, but is not limited to, security of supply buffers, LTBs and volume commitments made with suppliers, such as LTAs.
  • Collaborate with Agility Specialist, Strategic Inventory Manager, Demand Planning, Advanced Procurement and Supply Chain Operations to ensure buffer strategies are cohesive throughout the supply chain and only being driven for appropriate products.

Your skills and experience

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or minumum 10 years equivalent practical work eexperience in a supply chain role or closely related group, working in a highly matrixed environment
  • Experience leading projects and businesses/functions.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Strong leader with proven ability to engage and motivate a workforce
  • Innovative strategic thinking ability; strong business judgment
  • Business orientation and acumen, negotiation skills combined with entrepreneurial thinking, cross-cultural competence, and fast and assertive decision-making based on analytical thinking
  • Excellent communication
  • Results-driven- ability to critically assess complex issues and navigate a goal-oriented decision-making process
