Our expectations
The Director Financial Planning & Analysis reports to the VP Central Financial Services supporting Lowe’s Canada stakeholders and their teams as a finance partner and lead. S/he will play an essential part in consolidating, shaping and developing the Long Range Plan (LRP), Annual Operating Plan (AOP) / forecast updates and provide value added financial analysis for key central functions such as Real Estate and M&A functions.
This position will also have an integral part in communicating financial intelligence to managers, executives and Lowe’s corporate. The Director Financial Planning & Analysis will combine and communicate data from multiple sources to provide real and meaningful insight to management on key business issues.
Your role
Lead the entire LRP and AOP process, ensuring budgets are accurate, comprehensive and completed per timelines as established with all stakeholders ;
Maintain a dynamic forecast, collaborating with all BU VP Finance and their teams, Accounting and other stakeholders;
Complete board decks and executive reports, presenting analysis and findings for review by Executive Management prior to submission to Lowe’s corporate ;
Manage reporting process to ensure business leaders and teams receive timely and relevant information to make decisions. This includes management of the preparation, issuance and distribution of daily, weekly and period reports ;
Provide KPI analysis, benchmarking reports and financial decision support models to identify trends and opportunities to maintain profitability and achieve growth as requested by finance executive and business teams ;
Support continuous improvement of processes supporting financial planning, analysis and reporting across business areas at Lowe’s Canada and stores ;
Overseeing all Financial Analysis for Real Estate and supporting the Real Estate Committee ;
Leading all M&A activities working closely with the Strategy team and Corporate as needed.
The qualifications that we are looking for
Professional accounting/finance designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA, MBA) ;
A minimum of 8 -10 years of professional finance and accounting experience with a minimum of 5 years in an FP&A role ;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management ;
Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills, allowing for strategic data interpretation ;
Sound judgement ;
Project management experience ;
Deep knowledge of retail accounting and reporting requirements and proven ability to deliver timely and insightful reports ;
Strong PC skills ;
Comfortable working with tight deadlines.
