Job title: Director Finance
Job description: Our client is a newly established investment company who works with several well known not for profit organisations. We are looking for a Director Finance who works closely with the President to set up string foundational accounting processes and procedures. This role will interact with several high profile stakeholders and demands for a seasoned finance professional. This is a 6 months contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent. Ideally, we are looking for someone at 30 hours per week.
Reporting to the president your main focus areas will be.
- Establish a finance and accounting function, with strong internal controls and procedures
- Manage cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivables and reconciliations
- Establish cash flow projections, budgeting and forecasting
- Set up internal and external reporting
- Define performance indicators and best practices
- Liaise with a variety of external stakeholders such as banks, lawyers, audit firms and built strong relationships
- Review contracts and negotiate favourable terms
Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, you are a designated Director of Finance (CPA or equivalent), with 10+ years of financial reporting and leadership work experience. You are comfortable establishing foundational processes and procedures and drive growth in a newly established organisation. Ideally you would have had exposure to one of the following industry sectors: Not for profit, Real Estate, Investment / Financial Services or Higher Education.
In addition to the above, the following skills are also desired:
– Hands-on mentality with a desire to establish best practices and procedures.
– Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment and with a small team
– Strong communicator who can influence stakeholders
