Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Finance Transformation has overall responsibility for the utilization of the finance systems, finance deliverables under the broader corporate project Nova transformation, and will lead the finance enterprise resource planning (ERP) assessment and replacement. This role will be a key strategic partner in identifying opportunities to streamline operations and introduce automation across the division.
The Director, Finance Transformation also provides guidance on the control structure, financial operations and financial interfaces relating to core financial systems which directly impact the financial operations of the corporation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver on finance requirements and ensure full solution delivery of finance components including billing modules, required reporting, finance system integrations, etc.
- Be a change agent for both the broader initiative and its implications across the Finance division.
- Oversee all finance related technical requirements and aspects of the project and ensure all finance resources and subject matter experts (SME’s) are contributing to the project’s success.
- Lead the development, implementation, and administration of the organization’s financial systems.
- Act as a champion for change, leading the team from the status-quo to a future of streamlined and efficient processes that allow the finance team to move to a higher level of value add to the corporation.
- Develop a timeline and roadmap for the selection and implementation of a new ERP system considering current system end of life and dependencies with other systems such as the HRIS.
- Responsible for all activities of a director, including management of a significant operating budget, participation in strategic planning, long term human resource planning, budgeting for special projects, and improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for hiring, performance management, and workforce planning, and staff development planning, including a focus on succession planning.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)
- Ten years of related senior level experience in a computerized, financial environment, including budgeting, large-scale projects, and working effectively with large, inter-disciplinary teams.
- Direct experience leading multiple ERP implementations.
- Experience automating processes using RPA and other automation platforms.
- Experience in the insurance industry is an asset.
- Advanced understanding of the functions of ERP, financial systems, and software
- Advanced technical foundation in accounting and finance with an understanding and thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
- Advanced ability to identify and manage risks from a financial perspective.
- Advanced ability to deliver projects within budget and schedule.
- Advanced written, negotiation, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to provide leadership and motivate a large staff to achieve action and results.
- Understanding of Lean, Six sigma or other efficiency focused methodology.
