Job Description

Reporting to the VP Technology Strategy & Operations, the Director, Marketing Technology is responsible for driving growth and engagement in support of Manulife’s Corporate Marketing initiatives, business objectives and stakeholders.

Specific responsibility includes technology optimization, channel improvement projects, content management, quality assurance, accessibility (AODA), governance, vendor relationships, training and change management of Manulife.com, in collaboration with internal communications, corporate stakeholders and the various global business units Inc. John Hancock and Asia

.

The Director, Marketing Technology is a subject matter expert resource for global digital marketing teams and point of contact for best practices around technology, optimization/enhancement opportunities, accessibility, governance and operational efficiency.

The Director, Marketing Technology will be working closely with the Global Digital Marketing team and partnering with preferred Vendors and Global Solutions Delivery team(s).

Key Accountabilities

Technology optimization

Working with Manager, Digital Marketing Channels on the enhancements budget for Manulife.com, ensuring synergies and cost efficiencies across both platforms.

Implementing technology enhancements in collaboration with Web Marketing Channels team

Planning and executing ongoing channel improvement projects.

Stay up to date on emerging technology trends and highlight relevant trends.

Job Requirement:

Knowledge:

8+ years progressive work experience in a digital management function

Post-secondary education, preferably in Marketing, Web, e-media and/or relevant work experience

Experience working with a variety of marketing technology SaaS applications (Adobe, Google Oracle, Salesforce).

Demonstrated competence of HTML and web technologies, including: responsive, content management systems, web site tracking software, interactive multi-media technologies, browser differences and web design standards

Demonstrated high level of collaboration across multiple stakeholder groups

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical topics in simple terms

Experience managing performance of vendors

Energetic self-starter, with bias for action and ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities.

Strategic thinker – innovates and thinks outside the box, takes a planned, future-focused approach to planning

Solid understanding of web strategy, web theory, information architecture and online best practices with experience in content management

Knowledge and understanding of SEO

Ability to work flexible hours as required collaborating with colleagues across the company in different time zones.

Highly organized, self-motivated, adept at managing change and priorities with an ability to work under tight deadlines.

Proven Leadership skills and coaching abilities

Detail oriented with excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written)

Proven interpersonal and relationship management skills with a strong ability to manage, influence and leverage a multitude of stakeholders

Strong technical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint for the creations of management reports, presentations and analysis is required.
