Job Description and Responsibilities
The Director, Information Technology (IT) Alberta, is primarily focused on the level three manufacturing execution systems (MES) used in Alberta Operations. The role of the director is to manage the strategic and tactical planning and day-to-day operations of the IT activities with strategic alignment to enterprise mission and/or business plan through the application and deployment of information technology. The Director, IT will report to the Senior Director, IT for Canadian Operations.
- Plan and manage the IT Business and user relationship
- Plan the Business Driven IT Strategy
- Lead the evolution of technical architecture
- Manage vendor relationships
- Develop and deploy IT products and services
- Maintain level 3 MES and related systems
- Manage IT operations
- Support and train users
- Selects, develops and manages staff including managerial level employees
Requirements
- BS in Technology, Business, Engineering, or related
- Min. 10 yrs. progressive IT management experience
- Experience in tubular steel manufacturing or similar industry
- Knowledge of order to cash processes a must
- MES responsibilities with multiple lines or processes required; level 3 systems experience
- Enterprise resource planning (ERP) experience an asset; experience decommissioning helpful
- Experience with the development, medication of customized applications
- Ability to develop and lead large, diverse teams
- Must be able to work in USA or Canada without sponsorship and must be able to travel frequently between two countries
