Job Summary
Our Director of Information Technology will be entrusted with providing effective strategic and operational leadership, digital transformation and related information and technology needs. You will be accountable for outlining new strategic roadmaps for the organization, researching and planning for implementation of agile technologies in our industry and maintaining security at the forefront of all initiatives. Technology advancement is at the center of our strategic roadmap and considered a critical enabler to STARS ability to innovate and reach more patients.
This position gives you the opportunity to lead and collaborate with a skilled team of Information Technology specialists to ensure that IT infrastructure is available, maintained and providing maximum value to the organization. You will evaluate IT software projects, manage all IT infrastructure, as well as develop and implement policies and procedures for how technology is used and how information is stored. You are expected to be a cross-functional leader at STARS working closely with other leaders across all departments and the executive team.

Accountabilities & Oversights –
- Lead a team of 7 technology, project and systems professionals within the IT team;
- Oversee and participate in the maintenance of IT infrastructure;
- Implement change management, regular maintenance, documentation and problem management processes;
- Maintain a proactive network operations center system;
- Maintain accurate information of all IT Infrastructure components;
- Lead and support execution of quarterly deliverables
- Gather and review business requirements from various stakeholders, recommend technology and infrastructure solutions that can be integrated and deployed in the environment;
- Provide input and insight into infrastructure availability, capacity & performance including business continuity in the event of a critical infrastructure failure;
- Maintain positive working relationships with multiple external vendors and technology providers;
- Ensure continuous operations of the backup and recovery systems;
- Work with executive leadership to provide business relevant reporting and context of the IT environment;
- Define specifications for complex software programming applications;
- Develop, maintain and manage systems, software tools and applications;
- Resolve complex issues relating to evolving business expectations / requirements;
- Coordinate and support software installations and analyzing applications and tools;
- Analyze, develop and implement testing procedures, programming and documentation;
- Analyze, design and develop modifications and changes to existing systems to enhance performance;
- Evaluate, modify, and create information systems policies and procedures;
- Analyse current and past projects. Determine critical success path and implement strategies that ensure successful completion of projects;
- Development of IT infrastructure budgets – 1, 3 year plans.
What Our Ideal Candidate Possess –
- Relevant Degree in Technology, Engineering combined with a minimum 7 years of experience in IT management with 5 years in a senior leadership role;
- Leading a direct team and directing the overall technology road map for an organization;
- Demonstrated experience and accomplishments in developing, recommending, and influencing decisions based on a strong fact based, building consensus and communicating effectively in business (non-technical) terms;
- Sound business judgment, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope out technical requirements and prioritize;
- Proven experience implementing processes and delivering automation and standardization;
- Hands-on experience with server operating systems, infrastructure monitoring and maintenance systems, cloud services, SaaS applications, networking and SAN/storage concepts;
- Collaborative, proactive, strategic thinker who is provides flexible alternatives to the changing needs of the business;
- Able to showcase security management of critical infrastructure and information protection;
- Support ad hoc requests from business leaders for both data and financial analysis, as require;
- Advanced knowledge of Windows, Windows Server, Office Suites;
- Advanced knowledge of database services including Microsoft SQL;
- Advanced knowledge of email services including Microsoft Outlook and Office 365;
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, GPO’s, NTFS and share permissions, AD replication;
- Advanced knowledge of networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, Routing, VPN’s, common ISP services;
- Advanced knowledge of backup software, strategies and recovery methodology;
- Advanced knowledge of AD, file, email migrations and upgrades;
- An independent, self-managing work ethic with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadline.
