Job description: Our client is a successful multi-campus private school in the west GTA. They have an excellent reputation and helped their large student body succeed in a difficult year. Due to an impending retirement, they are seeking a new Director of Finance to provide business management leadership to the organization.

The Director of Finance will provide overall financial commercial leadership to the school, in areas encompassing accounting, budgeting, cash management, reporting, risk management, and policy. They will lead a small team from an off-campus business office. Areas of responsibility will include:

• Accounting and budgeting, including regular management and statutory reporting
• Cash management
• Dealing directly with student’s families on financial and business matters
• Leading the implementation of effective business systems, integrating financial reporting with HR and staff matter reporting (payroll, absence tracking, etc.)
• Managing outsourced IT resources and other supplier relationships, including service contracts
• In addition, a small element of the role will include providing “family office” type support to the ownership family
