What You’ll Be Doing

The Director, Technology Finance is a seasoned professional responsible for leading a team that delivers business partner financial planning, management reporting, financial analysis and informative delivery of forward looking information to assist the leadership team in decision making, financial viability and risk for both base and projects for the portfolio. The role recommends policy and procedure related modifications to provide consistent project finance support to business partners, liaising and collaborating with key finance personnel. The Director, Technology Finance applies leadership skills and technical expertise to analyze the performance of DOE and Technology projects. The role ensures that all deliverables are produced on a timely and accurate basis, providing recommendations, insight and context to help the business partner interpret the financial information and aid in decision support.. The Director drives innovation across areas of responsibility, applying expert interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

How You’ll Succeed

Conceptual skills – You will see the “big picture” in a complex environment includes identification of opportunities to optimize long term spend while achieving in-year targets. You will advise the senior leadership team on opportunities to manage financials with a view to the future.

Problem solving and analytical skills – You will have the ability to elicit necessary information to provide value-added advisory services to internal business partners, analysis and recommendations of the operating results and major initiatives. Throughout these activities you will identify potential issues/problems and provides timely solutions.

Communication skills – You can effectively articulate and “sell” ideas/recommendations created by analysis, interpretation, and assessment and obtain buy in. You will maintain a close working relationship with your business partners in both Finance and Technology. You will build an effective team through providing direction, coaching, mentoring and training.
