Job description: We are looking for Drafting Support to join our team in our Chilliwack – Rosedale office

In the role of Drafting Support, you will be responsible for drafting support for a specified product or family of products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Documentation of product intent
• Translation of customer needs and value opportunities into timely, cost-effective and tangible concept features and products
• Conceptual and detailed product design
• Verification of product fitness-for-purpose, cost-effectiveness, design for service and design for manufacture
• Creation and maintenance of customer product documentation
• Provision of appropriate instruction to manufacturing for efficient steady-state production
• Documentation of best practices and experiential learning
• Executing of continuous product improvement and cost reduction initiatives
• Management and continuous improvement of engineering drawing packages, work instructions and other forms of technical instruction consistent with product or brand specialization
• Conduct additional tasks as requested

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post-Secondary Training in CAD
• Fluent technical communication
• Use of standard office software
• Mechanical engineering design/drafting experience
• Assessment of appropriate design for manufacture and design for service
• Project and resource management
