Job title: ETL Developer – Vancouver, BC

Job description: We are looking for a passionate smart and driven individual to be responsible for designing and implementing data storage and processing solutions. The ideal ETL Developer will design and implement the management, monitoring, security, and privacy of data using the full stack of Azure data services to satisfy business needs. The qualified candidate must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop data integration points in the Azure environment (receiving the files, data transformation, and sending data to a target)
  • Ensure databases are running at peak efficiency by working with DBA’s and other team members
  • Discover barriers to database performance and correct them
  • Assist technical documentation team with the preparation of required materials
  • Actively participate in team agile activities including standups, planning, retrospectives, etc.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and oversight of secure database coding
  • Maintain SQL Coding standards
  • Provides troubleshooting support and identifies root causes for issues
  • Educate staff members through training and individual support

Requirements:

  • Experience building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
  • SQL Server database development experience, with at least 3 years performance tuning and database architecture experience
  • Azure Data Lake / Blob (Storage purpose)
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure Functions
  • Azure Synapse (Formerly SQL Data Warehouse) w demonstrated proficiency in stored procedures, triggers, and index performance tuning
  • SQL Server 2012, 2014 or 2016+
  • Experience working in an Agile based development environment
  • Experience in PCI, GDPR, ISO, or other security compliance
  • SSIS or other ETL experience
