What You’ll Do
As the Finance Analyst, you will support the commercial and operational activities of the Newfoundland and Labrador Wholly Owned region. You will drive profitability through analysis and support to the General Manager and Business Manager with weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting. Other duties will include:
- Profit & Loss (P & L) accuracy – ensures correct use of cost centers and accounts and completes corrections within their authority
- Provides WO financial information to Dyno Nobel Americas (DNA) corporate as directed by Business Manager
- Help ensure that the WO adheres to DNA accounting policies
- Assists with AR, which includes – PTC, Credit Limit development and compliance
- Monitor inventory balances – TWC target management, obsolesce oversight & verification of quantity on hand.
- Works with the Business Manager to maintain controls over the WO assets (asset verifications, useful lives, sales / transfer).
- Heavily involved in the Budgeting & Forecasting for the region including Volume, Sales, COGS and operational expenses
- Participate in any internal / external audits for the WO including timely action on any findings
- Assist as needed with accounts receivable, accounts payable, customer invoicing and product shipments
- Maintenance Spend / Production Support – Supports the Maintenance Team with managing the maintenance budget
- Adheres to and promotes all employees within the region comply with the Delegation of Authority (DoA)
- Review and ensure wholesale pricing to the region is up to date and accurate
- Supports Business Manager, GM and sales manager with retail pricing decisions
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor Degree required, MBA or other master’s degree preferred. CPA would also be an asset.
- 3+ years of finance, accounting and/or business analysis experience
- Knowledge of and experience in the explosives, mining or construction industry preferred
- Experience with P&L ownership and analysis, financial reporting, product pricing (retail), regulatory compliance and human resources
- Strong analytical mind and the ability to navigate large data set and provide actionable insight (P&L, Pricing, Cash Flow etc)
- Advanced financial (Excel) modeling skills and knowledge of SAP, BW, Planful, and Qlickview.
