Please Note:

• This posting is for several 4-month Student Summer 2022 placements with a start date of May 2022, and end-date of August 2022. To be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:

• (1) Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2022; or
• (2) If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2022), you must require the work term as a mandatory component to graduate successfully.
• Please ensure that you meet these eligibility requirements before applying – candidates who apply but are found to be ineligible are not able to be considered.

What will you do?

• Financial modelling forecasting and analysis
• Work with various visualization programs
• Interpret data using careful business-grounded logic and analytics techniques to test controls, find exceptions, and discover insights and trends.
• Participate in research, analyses and accounting assessments
• Be responsible to develop and run financial models
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline current processes
• Provide strong financial governance, including assisting with monthly reporting cycle and related account reconciliations and standards of documentation

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus in finance, accounting, business, commerce, mathematics, statistics, acturial sciences or a related discipline
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary school and eligible to complete a work term
• Experience or understanding of financial analysis, financial modelling, financial forecasting and financial reporting
• Knowledge in data analytics and data visualization tools
• Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
• Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
• Able to work effectively and reliably under pressure
• Excellent MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

Nice-to-have

• Previous experience working in a financial environment
• Previous experience in a case competition or hackathon
• VBA, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python
