THE OPPORTUNITY
Slegg Building Materials in Keating is currently seeking a Full-time Forklift Operator to join our team. The shifts are Tuesday – Saturday 9am-5:30pm. The wage range is $17 – $22.50 per hour, based on experience.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily inspections of forklift and complete required forms
- Ensure forklift maintenance and servicing requirements are met
- Build orders to required specifications for delivery
- Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner
- Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials
- Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to specific instructions by management to meet customer demands
- Maintain contact with supervisor(s) and work to resolve issues as they arise
- Other duties as assigned by management
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous driver experience
- Valid forklift certification (propane)
- Forklift experience is essential
- Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English
- Knowledge of basic mathematics
- Basic hand tool skills
- Physical requirements include:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Sitting and driving for longs periods of time
- Frequently climbing up and down stairs
- Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight
- A positive can do attitude is essential!
THE LOCATION – SAANICHTON (Keating)
We are located on Keating Cross Road in the commercial district of Saanichton which is on the Saanich Peninsula of Greater Victoria.
