This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Funding Officer acts as a liaison between clients, clinical teams, finance and funding sources/agencies. The Funding Officer will assess and advise clients on funding sources. The incumbent processes and expedites funding authorizations as well as facilitates closing of orders related to invoicing and liaises with finance department to effectively support funding/payment arrangements. Additionally, the Funding Officer works with the finance/clinical/administration staff in developing and implementing funding protocols.

The Funding Officer may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration/Commerce or Applied Arts with education in finance and business
  • Minimum one year related, relevant experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of software including databases, spreadsheets and word processing
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and financial software, billing and reporting (STAR, SAP, etc)
  • Ability to interpret verbal and written data and exercise sound judgement in problem solving and decision making
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team as well as the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and apply critical analysis to factual information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Decision making and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of privacy policies and legislation and commitment to the protection of personal health information
  • Demonstrated knowledge of government services, community agencies, insurance companies, vendors/suppliers, etc
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work

  • Long Assignment, Full Time; 75 hours bi-weekly

Salary Information

$27.0238 – $30.6169 hourly
