This exciting career opportunity at Pickering Casino Resort is seeking dynamic individuals with a drive to succeed, strong guest relations and supervisory skills; responsibilities of this role will align with the position of Front Office Manager.
Under the direction of the Director, Hotel Operations, this position is responsible for the Front Office operation of the hotel. The Front Office Manager will take the lead in planning, directing, and supervising day-to-day operational activities, ensuring guests are exceptionally welcomed and satisfied all while providing a first-class entertainment experience for our guests.
The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills and abilities, executing the following support of the company’s vision, mission and values:
- Hire, train, coach, evaluate, and manage Team Members to ensure they have guidance and resources to achieve objectives.
- Understands the importance of the department’s operation on the overall property financial goals and educates staff on details as appropriate.
- Review staffing levels to ensure the guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.
- Directs the day-to-day activities of front office Team Members
- Manage guest satisfaction within approved guidelines
- Assist the Revenue Manager in maintaining the ADR and monitors room inventory
- Ensures the safety of our guests and employees with a thorough understanding of emergency procedures
- Assists with arrivals and departures as required
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and employees)
- Continually focus on operations with a bias toward continuous improvement.
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
- Ensures Team Members’ annual training is completed successfully
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years front office management experience an asset
- Post-Secondary hospitality or hotel education or suitable combination of education and experience
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A commitment to continually increase your knowledge of our products and services in order to offer exceptional experiences to our guests
- A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development
- A passion for providing Great Experiences and Memories to our internal and external guests in the continual quest of achieving service excellence
- Post-Secondary hospitality or hotel education or suitable combination of education and experience;
- Ability to lead and mentor a team within a unionized environment
- WHMIS and additional certification as needed
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), proficient with Opera software
