Your Role and Responsibilities
The Information Security Advisor provide a single point of contact to the account management and delivery teams for all operational security related activities for the customer account. The successful candidate will employ key skills in leadership, project management, collaboration, communication and organization in addition to an industry recognized certification (CISM or CISSP) and general security expertise. He or she will:
- Manages the implementation of the Security Policy Agreement.
- Maintain and oversee relationships for all delivery organizations providing security support for risk and compliance activities.
- Proactively drive the operational compliance on the account.
- Provide in-house consultancy on information risk management matters and advise on the implementation of security controls on the Account.
- Provide oversight for the implementation and management of operational security activities, processes and policies as required (e.g. global processes, process exceptions).
- Track and assist in the resolution of reported operational security issues. Recommend actions, reviewing plans and monitoring progress of remedial actions. Manage to resolution security risks identified as a result of reviews and audits, changes in IBM or customer environment, changes in operating practices or processes, changes in technology etc.
- On a regular basis (recommended at least monthly), meet with the account team to review security status, review any risks, issues, incidents, outstanding activities, current and planned changes.
- Work with the security teams on the account to produce the monthly security report and ensure they are delivered within the scheduled time frames.
- Ensure all IBM personnel on account adhere to IBM security policies and processes.
- Have an in-depth understanding of Security, Risk, and, Compliance objectives related to Information Technology processes.
- Develop and provide timely updates to Security Controls Documentation to reflect customer policies and ITD Security requirements.
- Improve ITD controls posture by providing delivery teams and client relations management with advise on IT Security policies and security controls documents
- Display ISO/IEC 27002 (internationally recognized code of practice for information security management) knowledge and understandings.
- Leadership role working with Clients, Account Management and Delivery Teams.
- Working in a field that is constantly changing and evolving.
- Helping teams to get the job done.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 3 years in Information Security activities within a large enterprise environment.
- CISM or CISSP or equivalent certification (or ability to obtain certification with in 12 months).
- Security Controls experience.
- Knowledge of Business Controls.
- Ability to provide clear status reporting and tracking.
- Detailed organizational skills; ability to track multiple tasks lists simultaneously.
- Proficient use of MS Office/Open Office.
- Expert level of knowledge with IBM Corporate Instructions, Guidelines, Policies and Procedures.
- Associate’s Degree/College Diploma
- 2 years experience in understanding security documentation, processes, and requirements.
- Experience working with information security policies and regulations preferred
- Bilingual in English and French.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- IT Audit Experience.
- At least 5 years experience in understanding security documentation, processes, and requirements.
- CISM, CISA, or CISSP Certification.
- Government of Canada Security clearance Level 2 (Secret).
- Infrastructure (Server, Network), Cloud.
- Passionate about Security, IT Controls, Audit.
