This position reports to the Chief Mine Engineer.

This temporary employment opportunity is part of Nutrien’s Indigenous Internship Program and is intended to introduce voluntary self-identified Indigenous students or recent graduates to professional work experiences at Nutrien.

This is a 16-month Co-op that begins in May 2022. Active Recruitment to begin January 2022.

What you will do:

  • Coordinate with various departments to conduct tests, ensure accurate readings and take samples
  • Assist the Mine Engineering Department with various projects including rock mechanics, data collection and quality control, ventilation readings, analysis and instrumentation installs, mine production data analysis, geology and rock bolt mapping
  • Be responsible for analysis and reporting
  • Prepare samples for lab analysis
  • Conduct analysis
  • Ensure proper instrumentation and equipment function

What you will bring:

  • Current enrollment in the third or fourth year, or a recent graduate from a mining or geological engineering program from an accredited university
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; team player who can positively and productively implement assigned projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent results/goal orientation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
  • Thorough attention to details and ability to maintain accuracy in a dynamic environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly MS Word and Excel
  • Able to work collaboratively across multiple function
