The IT Lead – Solution Technology Leader, Canada Squad will work across multiple Business Technology and Product Line groups to define and deliver innovative digital solutions for our business. This position will help drive the digital and technical transformation of the business by enabling customer centricity through a fully integrated experience, and ensure best-in-class capabilities, services, and operations by leveraging Regional/Global expertise and best practices.
The Squad Technology Solution Leader is an individual contributor role and will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of business outcomes for the Canadian brands that they support. They will be accountable for defining and leading the execution of a technology roadmap in line with the Squad 3-year Operating Plan. This individual will be responsible for delivering business technology projects and ongoing operation of integrated solutions, engaging the appropriate resources and teams as necessary from across the organization, and ensuring they are following Agile best-practices and clearing impediments where necessary.
The incumbent must build strong collaborative partnerships with all applicable partners across the North America region to deliver opportunities aligned with the 3-year strategic roadmap.
Major Responsibilities:
- Partner with Business Technology Leader and Squad teams to identify business priorities and digital product needs, in line with brand strategies.
- Develop strategic technology roadmaps for our Canadian brands to define the long-term visions for products, estimate organizational investment and the benefits of initiatives to support overall prioritization
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive them into a solution that addresses the business needs, taking into consideration the opportunities for maximum leverage of existing capabilities
- Ensures strong relationships with internal business partners and external vendors by promoting IT capabilities and processes and facilitating day-to-day activities.
- Accountable for the planning and management of the functional technology operations and investment budgets
- Use human-centered design and test & learns to validate the real-world effectiveness of proposed solutions for our consumers
- Oversee cross-product development teams and the associated agile delivery of product capabilities – monitor and inform stakeholders on the progress of program components to ensure overall goals, schedule, budget and benefits of the programs are achieved.
- Champion an agile culture and product management principles within all products and programs
- Engage appropriate resources across Product Lines and TS per solution blueprint
- Participates in industry related activities, keeping knowledge up-to-date and on top of the latest technologies and trends.
- Ensures J&J information assets are appropriately identified, valued, and protected by complying with and enforcing all local and global compliance and security policies
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; a field of Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in a technology related role is required, with a minimum of 2 years experience in a business-facing technology related role.
- Experience in implementing digital capabilities (web, mobile, CRM, eCommerce, etc…) is required.
- Must be a strong proponent of change, primarily by fostering change within and across organizational boundaries as well as processes and standards.
- Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies (i.e. Agile/Waterfall) is preferred.
- Experience supporting or working within an Agile delivery team is preferred.
- Experience leading large, moderate to complex projects, programs or initiatives across the franchise or enterprise is required.
- Experience managing and supporting Technology Platforms – Lifecycle Management /Technology Enhancements is preferred.
- Strong communication skills within the technical and business environments with ability to interpret, develop and present information to multiple audiences is required.
- Impeccable business partnering, influencing and collaboration skills working with delivery teams, business partners, agencies and stakeholders, with ability to negotiate win-win outcomes, is required.
- Strong problem solving skills; responsiveness and flexibility with evolving responsibilities and changing environment are required.
- Experience within the CPG industry is preferred.
- This position is located in Markham, ON, Canada and may require up to 10% travel.
