As ATB’s next Android Developer you will be joining the Retail Banking initiative to develop and maintain a world class Android application, as well as microservices-based backend.
The Software Developer designs, develops, tests, delivers, maintains and improves applications, and works across the entire software development lifecycle to optimize ATB user experience and workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, codes, unit tests and integrates new features and functionality as defined by the PO and team
- Applies creative problem solving that bring software designs to life
- Builds apps, APIs and data solutions to drive projects
- Assists in the development of automated test harnesses as necessary to ensure delivery of high-quality code
- Participates in ideation and brainstorming sessions to devise creative and disruptive digital solutions
- Updates progress daily through the tracking tool (Jira) or Kanban board
- Completes and ensures completion of any required documentation required e.g. deployment, maintenance, support and business needs
Requirements:
Accreditations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent working experience
Core Technical Skills:
- Proven experience developing scalable, high-performing Android applications using Kotlin
- Full stack programming & frameworks – Coding in languages (Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, Python) using one or more frameworks (NodeJS/Express, Java/SpringBoot)
- Source code management – appropriately using version-control tools and best practices
- Development Tools – Solid understanding of CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Jenkins.
- Experience with Docker containers, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform and microservice architecture
- Experience with relational/non-relational databases such as PostgresQL , MongoDB, etc. would be an asset
- Experience working with automated testing solutions, such as Selenium, pyTest etc. would be an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and nonverbal)
