Lead Technical Writer
Role Description:
As a member of the Technical Documentation Team, you will be responsible for producing technical documentation for end users. In this role, you will work closely with peers, managers, and developers to effectively inform end users about our software and changes to it. You will prepare technical documentation consistent with SS&C Algorithmics’ standards and as directed by the Manager, Technical Documentation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborating with subject matter experts to author technical content
Structuring complex software concepts for customers and internal users
Updating documentation deliverables for multiple features and products
Independently researching technical material
Testing and verifying procedures contained in the product documentation
Providing usability feedback to peers and product development
Communicating about projects to cross-functional stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
Bachelor’s Degree
3 years or more experience in technical documentation
Strong analysis and problem solving skills
Ability to translate complex technical information into a well-structured written document
Ability to cultivate constructive working relationships within the organization
Experience within a software development environment and with continuous integration and development such as Docker, GitHub Actions, and Artifactory
Experience or familiarity with documentation technologies such as AsciiDoc, DITA XML, MathML, LaTeX, and Swagger/OpenAPI
Knowledge of mathematics, finance, the banking industry and/or risk management is an asset
