Logistics Coordinator
Our client, a successful ground transportation 3PL is currently
searching for a Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Burlington
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers for domestic and cross-border TL and LTL
- Source carriers for all freight movements
- Track loads and provide customers with up-to-date information
- Manage and coordinate daily shipments with carriers and customer service team
- Liaise with customer service and carriers to facilitate their pickup and delivery appointments
- Work closely with customer service team to ensure smooth execution of all freight movements
- Respond quickly to spot quotes
- Be available after hours to assist with resolving issues
- Follow up on delivery delays or security issues
- Ensure closure of all orders in the TMS
- Grow and maintain existing and new carriers
- Preform work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years logistics or dispatch experience in the transportation industry
- Post secondary education
- Experience in cross border shipping, full-truckload as well as less-than-truckload
- Ability to make quick decisions
- Understanding of cross border and domestic TL and LTL market rates
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task
- Effective teamwork skills
- Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities
- Strong communication, customer service and computer skills
- Ability to build rapport with both carriers and customers
