Department/Unit/Program Description

The Diagnostic Imaging Department (DI) offers a variety of services to inpatients and outpatients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Modalities offered include X-ray, CT, MRI, US, Mammography (including Ontario Breast Screening OBSP), Echocardiography and non-invasive IR procedures.

Orthopedic fracture clinics run multiple days per week, adding to the variety of patients seen. Patient complexity ranges based on individual patient needs.

Position Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Department is currently seeking a Temporary Part-Time Medical Radiation Technologist to join their team.

Effective Date: June 14, 2021
Ending on or before: January 03, 2022

Essential Qualifications

• Active member of College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
• General x-ray, OR, portable work
• Current CPR certification, on hire
• High level of communication, organizational and time management skills
• Ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff, patients and the public
• PACS experience
• Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per the current Physical Demands Analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Computer experience in a Windows environment
• Certified in Administration of Intravenous Contrast Agents

Hours of Work

Rotation of 8 and 12 hours; days, evenings, nights, Monday to Sunday. Will require standby and call back duties (must be within 30 minutes of the hospital). Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the OPSEU Collective Agreement.
