- Coordinate and oversee preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems.
- Perform and oversee facilities preventative and corrective maintenance, ongoing CanFix programs, HVAC, electrical and plumbing repairs, paint and wallpaper repairs, flooring, etc
- Ensure service calls are completed on a guest demand basis to address guest concerns.
- Ensure all grounds and buildings are properly maintained and present a professional appearance to the public and are safe for guest use – i.e. landscaping, snow removal and salting, and general exterior upkeep and maintenance.
- Coordinates the removal of garbage/recycling from all refuse outlets throughout and properly disposes of as scheduled
- Maintain a list and relationship with contractors to assist as required, including plumbing and electrical, mechanical, and HVAC, etc.
- Ensure that the safety of the guests and staff is assured by strictly adhering to the local fire code, health and building codes
- Implement and adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures outlined by the Company.
- Actively recruits, interviews, hires, trains and evaluates Maintenance Team Members as required.
- Provides department specific Orientation training to new Maintenance Team Members.
- Creates and adjusts Maintenance Team Member schedules to meet customer demands.
- Has knowledge of Ontario’s Employment Standards Act and ensures compliance.
- Performs personnel procedures including but not limited to resolving employee conflicts, corrective counseling and disciplinary action in a timely, competitive and fair manner
- Continually interacts with Maintenance Team Members to motivate and encourage them in the daily performance of their duties.
- Perform any other duties as required
Requirements
- Minimum of 5-7 years of supervisor/management experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in hotel / hospitality maintenance
- Completion of Post-Secondary Education in a related field preferred
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License
- Valid Police Clearance Certificate
- Fall Arrest Certification
- Aerial Work Platform Certification
- Standard First Aid & CPR Certification
- Certified Pool Operators Certification preferred
Personal Qualities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of pool water chemistry and equipment maintenance and upkeep.
- Capable of prioritizing work and handling a variety of tasks including projects and project deadlines
- Must be positive, respectful and encourage a team environment.
- Detail-oriented, ethical and honest.
