General Information This position is a leader in change management; developing and directing the overall current and future information technology strategies for the organization and overseeing the implementation of innovative solutions that support the achievement of service goals and initiatives for client groups. The primary role of this position is to oversee all CVRD information technology functions including: Geographical Information Systems (GIS); information technology infrastructure inclusive of wide area network (WAN) & local area network (LAN); Voice over IP (VoIP); mobility devices; wireless; network servers/hardware; software; licensing; security; and, data assets. This position provides technological expertise and advice to all departments within the CVRD; ensures capacity planning, disaster and business continuity; and provides leadership to the Information Technology Division and contractors/consultants.

Qualifications
Education/Training
Degree in the Computer Information Systems field or a degree in a related field of study.

Experience
Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in an information technology management role including experience supervising staff and contractors/consultants, preferably in a local government setting.
Experience with implementing and supporting network infrastructure, hardware and peripherals, software systems and databases including: GIS, financial, recreation, records, meeting management, solid waste management, cloud-based services, and web technologies.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Occupational Certification
Class 5 BC Driver’s License
Canadian Information Processing Society (CIP) Certification would be an asset

Hours of Work: This position works 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30-4:30, and may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends as operationally needed.

Salary: The CVRD offers a competitive annual salary of $108,631.97 – 127,084.67 (2021 rate) and a comprehensive benefits package including extended health, dental, life insurance, paid vacation, pension, and flextime.
