As the Manager of Corporate Technology, you will oversee all Information Technology functions in Symend and its locations. You will also manage technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies, as well as oversee vendors and service requests as well as support with compliance initiatives partnering with the CISO, Director of Compliance and Legal team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Oversee all technological operations and evaluate them according to established goals
- Manage facilities in multiple locations in North America
- Review and update IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by Symend’s management
- Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technological needs
- Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software, tracking and maintenance of hardware and software inventory
- Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
- Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to the management
- Own the relationship with ServiceDesk vendors to ensure efficient and positive service and ticket resolution
- Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
- Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration
- Collaborate with business leaders, CTO and CISO to drive solutions that enable Symend to achieve it’s medium to long-term strategy as well as implementing systems and processes to support with security and compliance needs
- Understand and control yearly IT budget and report on expenditure
What You’ll Need:
Education:
- A Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in IT management
- Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems (MS Exchange, Active Directory, Mac and Windows-based systems), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring
- Expertise in analysis, implementation, configuring, testing and evaluating IT systems and solutions
Key Competencies and Skills:
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills; the ability to analyze problems and develop actionable and appropriate tactical plans quickly
- Experience in controlling information technology budget
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Proven track record of success working with cross functional internal and external teams
- Experience with remote workers would be advantageous
