Job description: Are you a recent university/college graduate or transitioning into the marketing / communication workforce and interested in the creative sector? Creative Industries North Bay Inc. seeks a Marketing & Communication Coordinator who is eager to build partnerships, support and grow our local creative sector.
Within the means and resources of the organization, the successful applicant is responsible for management of all organizational social media platforms to maintain and grow our organizations marketing campaigns: #CreativeCityCrush – a marketing initiative that highlights North Bay, Nipissing’s creative sector artists, organizations, collectives and initiatives; #FactFriday – an education based marketing program / strategy to communicate the positive economic stats, facts and info of our creative sector to the broader population.
The successful applicant will lead and build all marketing content and initiatives in coordination with Creative Industries programming including several project grants such as a Canada wide research project funded by the Canada Council for the Arts. This work would include but not limited to in-house design of publications for both digital and print distribution; social media content creation; announcements, articles and blogs etc. The successful applicant will assist the Executive Director and other staff in the development of an economic impact study of North Bay, Nipissing’s creative sector.
Selected Responsibilities
- Developing all marketing / graphic design content in association with on-going programs and secured project grants, special initiatives
- Maintain and grow all social media platforms and initiatives
- Develop new marketing strategies for Creative Industries to effectively promote North Bays art sector and organizations mandate
- Develop and build stronger audience base and engagement through social media, email and monthly newsletters
- Develop and design in-house publications for online and print distribution
- Develop any necessary marketing and communication content in association with special projects, grants and initiatives
- Collect and report measurables / impact of marketing campaigns to rate success (i.e. audience growth, community awareness, frequency of organizational communication, cross-promotion)
Requirements: Qualifications
- Recent graduate in Graphic Design, Marketing or any related field. Arts Administration and Public Relations will also be considered
- Proven passion and interest in the creative sector
- Proven knowledge with Adobe Suite, specifically Photoshop & In-Design
- Experience with content creation and graphic design
- Comfortable with both MAC and PC platforms
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and techniques
- Market analysis & research skills
- Interest in learning CMS platform
- Strong organizational and administration skills
- Experience with analytic reporting tools and metrics

Additional Info: Work Environment
The Marketing and Communication Officer will report to the Executive Director and the Creative Industries Board of Directors. The successful applicant will work based out of our downtown North Bay office.
