Our client, a leader in the utility and power industry, has a wonderful opportunity for a Marketing Product Manager with business and marketing savvy, combined with experience in protection and control, and fault recording. In this role, you will serve as the nodal lead to provide insights to the marketing team, evaluate products and determine the value proposition, and contribute to the development of business.

What the Marketing Product Manager does:

  • Your main objective will be to identify potential products, conduct market research, understand the competition, generate product requirements, determine specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction and developing marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Sales and Customer Service and other divisions to gather market insights and develop value propositions for products and services
  • Lead and participate in the development of outbound marketing plans
  • Own and execute product launch plans and contribute to the development of collateral and new product launch activities including messaging and product naming
  • Contribute to and execute marketing strategies
  • Develop metrics and measure success of marketing campaigns and activities
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all products and product application

What the successful candidate will bring:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experiences
  • Minimum 5 years working knowledge of electric power systems including theory, components, practices and philosophies
  • Working knowledge of protective relay and fault recorder application and industry practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries and in a team environment
  • Excellent technical training, speaking and technical writing skills
  • Understanding of the types of marketing needed across the product lifecycle
  • Passion for customers – to see them and the organization succeed
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in team environment
  • Very strong computer and business software skills
  • Exceptional organization and ” get it done” skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Preference will be given to:

  • Technical marketing experience in product marketing, product management, or business development in high-tech business-to-business product/services business
  • Experience with electric power transmission, distribution, generation and renewable energy systems
  • Experience in power systems protective relay and fault recorder use involving transmission lines and substations, generating plants and energy distribution systems
  • Knowledge of advanced communication protocols and communication system architecture
  • Expert knowledge of system protection, integration and automation applications
  • Working experience with relays and recorders in a Utility, Consulting or OEM environment would be an advantage
