Job description: The Opportunity:
Are you passionate about Engineering in a world class mining facility? We are currently looking for a supervisor engineer to join our Albian Technical Services Engineering team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to display your proficiency by supporting the development, optimization, communication and execution of integrated mine plans through collaboration with Canadian Natural Mine Operations, Mine Maintenance, Process Engineering, Mine Technical Services groups in addition to external stakeholders and provincial regulators.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for leading the Short Range Mine Planning and Mine Survey team in the development and optimization of integrated mine plans (daily – 2 weeks) for Albian
- Increase the net present value of the Albian asset through optimization of the integrated mine plan and operating cost and capital cost reductions
- Coach, mentor and develop the short range mine planning and mine survey team
- Provide technical review of professional work products of the short range mine planning team to ensure Mine Engineering standards are being implemented, upheld, and updated as per Canadian Natural and APEGA’s PPMP
- Develop and communicate detailed mine plans and schedules to support the safe, reliable and cost effective operation of Albian oil sands
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure optimized feasible mine plans

- Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta – Albian Oil Sands site
- Eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Relocation Regular Policy
- Shift schedule: 4 x 3 – 10 hour days
- This is a safety sensitive position

Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering; Registered with APEGA as a P.Eng
- Minimum of 8+ years of Mine Engineering experience in Oil sands; preferably site experience
- Proficient in Vulcan; good understanding of Dispatch system and block model, Albian Geology formation, plant parameters, mine economics
- Class 5 drivers license with no known driving limitations
