RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the Duty Manager overseeing Front Office operations during the overnight hours.
  • Ensure that daily charges are posted, transaction reports and other checks are completed each night.
  • Create a variety of reports for other departments; ensure reports are effective and accurate.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by FOM / Director of Operations
  • Resolve guest and associate complaints; keep FOM / Director of Operations informed of any risk or opportunity in relation to the any experience or interaction.
  • Ensure that safety & security of guests and hotel property is being upheld; deal with any security issues per company standard.
  • Provide arrival & departure services (check-in/check-out); answer reservations calls; provide concierge services during the overnight hours.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer relations/customer service within Guest Services. Maintain professional internal/external guest service: smile, create eye contact and use employee/guest names.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of communication relating to business opportunity between the Night Audit and other operational departments. Maintain open and constant communication with other departments.
  • Supervise Night team. Guide and counsel associate to correct nonstandard behavior/performance and promote improved productivity. Ensure regular communications meetings are held with Night Audit associates. Include associate performance appraisals and introduce revised SOP’s as necessary.
  • Maintain all systems and procedures as they relate to VIP Arrivals are being met and ensure Associate resources are scheduled to adequately provide service levels to the PPHG standard.
  • Ensure all floats and cash handling procedures are adhered to within company standards and ensure the overall protection of the company’s revenue. Adhere to company credit policies to ensure all revenue expected will be received.
  • Ensure & maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel at all times.
  • Work with other departments to ensure safe comportment of staff and guests in emergency situations. Ensure a safe work area.
  • Participate in supervisory training & cross assignments in daytime Front Office operations as required.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Excellent command of English
  • Valid Level 1 OFA Certification
  • In-depth knowledge of Whistler, the surrounding areas and of local tourist products and services
  • Good knowledge of computers and a variety of programs

Preferred:

  • Diploma or Degree in hotel management an asset
  • Second language an asset
  • Experience using the Property Management System, Opera.
